Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles was an American comedian, author, actor, as well as stand-up comic. He was among the most highly-respected entertainment talent. His quick wit and humorous remarks, accompanied by his genuine affection for his fans created an irresistible mix of amusement, fun and laughter. Because of his ability to make an insult sound funny and inoffensive he was a regular at celebrity roasts. He was a source of attention because his jokes were mean and hurtful and yet the person at the other end of it would be laughing wholeheartedly. He began his career in comedy with a variety of prepared jokes. But, he realized that the audience preferred his impromptu insults to traditional material. His style of comedy was adored by many people, including Frank Sinatra. Alongside being featured in numerous films and TV shows he also had two comedy albums. He received many awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at 'The Comedy Awards'. Don Rickles only had small TV roles after his graduation. To supplement his income, he started performing stand-up comedy and eventually created his "insult comedian" persona. The 1970s saw him take on an important role in the blockbuster movie, Kelly's Heroes (1970), which was starring Clint Eastwood. He was a regular in TV comedies such as  The Dean Martin Roasts' (1972), and The Don Rickles Show,' (1973). Barbara Sklar, Don Rickles's wife, was wed to him on March 14, 1965. Their two children were Mindy and Larry. Larry was killed by his father in 2011. Bob Newhart was Don Rickles' most beloved friend. They often took vacations together with their wives. They appeared together on numerous shows, including "Newhart" as well as Don Rickles passed away from kidney failure at his Beverly Hills home on April 6, 2017.
