She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts which is located within the Arts District. She earned her BFA in acting at Stephens College, and also attended the British American Drama Academy. She also spent six years with the Dallas Theatre Center, and one year with the Encore Company. She began her acting career in theaters before her big screen debut. Her stage credits include the productions of "As As You Like It", "A Funny Thing occurred on the way to the Forum", "Measure for Measure", "Baby" and "Chicago" along with many more. Her most memorable appearance was in Michael Cristofer's HBO Telefilm Gia (1998), opposite Angelina Jolie. She made her famous to the public and critics. In the following sci-fi adventure, Frequency (2000) featuring Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute's eagerly anticipated Nurse Betty (2000) opposite Renee Zellweger, Elizabeth showed her impressive acting abilities. With numerous credits from the theater, television series and movies, Elizabeth Mitchell continues to perform at her very best in the acting world. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts situated in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, Texas. Graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with the Fine Arts Degree. She was in Man and Boy (2002) alongside Ioan Gruffudd. The show aired on BBC 1 TV in March 2002.
