Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977)
is an New Zealand actress. She is renowned for her funny, soft-spoken and
headstrong characters. She primarily works in independent films. She's won an
award from the New Zealand Film Award as in addition to an Hollywood Film Award
as well as an Sundance Special Jury Award. Lynskey made her film debut as a
teenage murderess , in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After making
the move to the United States, she built an impressive career as a supporting actor
in a range of small- and big-budget films, including Ever After (1998), Detroit
Rock City, But I'm a Cheerleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Abandon,
Sweet Home Alabama (both 2002) Shattered Glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers

2015 Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Artistress. Megan and
Beatrice in Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014) were their voices.
