Markie Post

Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She began her career as a film and TV producer, producing films such as "The New Card Sharks", (1978), and "Card Sharks," (1986). Post produced projects such as Double Dare (1976), and appeared on various television shows such as E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (2001). Her most memorable TV part was "Christine Sullivan" in Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992 she appeared in 156 episodes. She was the daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and noted nuclear physical scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 in 2015). She had two daughters with her second husband Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26 in 1987) and Daisy Ross (born March 30, 1990). She was born in Palo Alto, California and was raised in Walnut Creek. The school she attended was Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California; she was an athlete. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She was a trick roper on The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her body was cremated, and her ashes returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a lifelong Democrat. Markie Post died three months after her 71st Birthday on August 7 2021. She passed away 27 days following Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984), co-star, who died on the 11th of July, 2021. Although the two shows were completely separate, Night Court (1984) was cancelled in 1992 when her character Christine Sullivan, leaving for Washington DC, and Hearts Afire (1992) started in the same year, with Post being a character who was not her own Georgie Lahti. The character was also a part of Washington DC (and later moving to a town that was smaller).
