Milena Govich

Milena Govich, director, actor and musician, has directed many episodes of TV including Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many more. She also was the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and is attached to direct two pilots currently in development. Milena was one of eight filmmakers chosen for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable is her short film and TV show proof of concept was premiered at SXSW. It also won Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the nation. It won the award for Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared in more than 100 television episodes acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) is the Dick Wolf series, was her second main role. This led to her being the Emmy-winning woman detective on Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or featured her in reruns. Milena is also a part of numerous films, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015), starring alongside Method Man; and the features Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena is from Norman, Oklahoma native. After being valedictorian of her high school, she went further to get two majors in vocal performances and premed with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. Then, she used her classical ballet skills to take part in a show on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
