Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September, 1973) is an American actress and activist. After her film debut in a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan gained more recognition for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. McGowan's first film appearance was in the horror movie Scream in 1996. Then, she appeared as the star of Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998) as well as Going All the Way (1997). McGowan's performance as Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was the most well-known part of her career. McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) and for which she received nominations for the Saturn Award as Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed by a repackaging of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in 2017. She made a statement against sexual harassment and assault and , in particular, the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In 2018, she published Brave the memoir of her life, and appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
