Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive sparkling blonde locks, and her bubbly up personality, provides easy techniques anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious establishments, studied Italian food and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food at very young. After receiving an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic adventure for me. I couldn't learn enough couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children's lives who have challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador. she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a keynote speaker and instructor, she travels across the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her work. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could share her true passion with the people around her.
